What sailing is like here
The Bay of Kotor is the most deeply cut inlet in the Mediterranean, and the wind inside it stays light even when it is blowing out at sea. Passages are short and the anchorages close together. From Tivat the Croatian border is a few hours away, so it pairs well with southern Dalmatia.
Season
From April to October. Spring and autumn are more pleasant here than farther north, and the sea stays warm until the end of October.

- A fortified medieval town at the head of the bay, its walls drawn up the slope above it.
- Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks
- A man-made island with a church in the middle of the bay, built up over centuries of stones dropped from passing boats.

- A vertical backdrop: the mountains climb to two thousand metres just a few kilometres from the water.

The bay itself can be covered in three days. For a full week it is usually combined with southern Dalmatia or the coast towards Albania.
What are the formalities on arrival from Croatia?
Crossing the border by sea means reporting to a designated port and clearing customs. We give the exact procedure and fees with each specific offer.
Is there enough wind in the bay for sailing?
Less than on the open Adriatic. Boka is more an area for motoring and slow exploring than for clocking up sailing miles.
