The north of the island around the Costa Smeralda is the main area. The La Maddalena archipelago lies an hour’s sail off the coast and has dozens of anchorages. The strait between Sardinia and Corsica is windy and is planned for the morning, before the wind builds.

From May to October. In August the Costa Smeralda is full and marina prices are among the highest in the Mediterranean.

Yes; the strait is crossed in a few hours. It is a passage between Italy and France, so for a specific boat we check whether the charter allows it.
Do you need a permit for La Maddalena?
Yes. Entry to the national park is charged, and in some zones anchoring is banned.
Is Sardinia suitable for beginners?
The area around La Maddalena, yes. The open crossings and the Strait of Bonifacio already call for experience or a skipper.
